ZUUNKHARAA BRANCH was established in 1967 as the Zuunkharaa branch of the Darkhan-Selenge Electricity Grid Authority with the establishment of the Central Power System during the connection of thermal power plants in Ulaanbaatar and Darkhan to 110 kV overhead transmission lines. At that time, the Zuunkharaa branch had 19.5 km of 6 kV overhead transmission lines, 16.46 km of 0.4 kV low voltage networks, 6 6/04 kV substations, ATP fixed assets, and supplied power to about 200 households. . In 1968, it started supplying electricity to the consumers of Bornuur, Bayanchandmani, Bayantsogt and Batsumber in Tuv aimag. In 2004, the sector was restructured to include 35/10 kV Tunkhel substation, 6 kV distribution facility, 54 6-10 / 0.4 kV substations, 35 kV substations in Mandal, Bayangol and Sumber soums of Selenge aimag. Operation and maintenance of 39 km, 20-10.2 km of 6-10 kV, 159.5 km of 0.4 kV transmission lines, 13.83 km of cable lines, distribution and supply of electricity to about 7300 consumers located in the area of ​​18000 km2 is operating.

In the past, the construction and investment work included the renovation of the 0.4 kV transmission line in the ger district of Mandal soum, the installation of smart meters with 2 tariffs for customers, the renovation of the 35 kV Tunkhel overhead line and the 35/10 kV Tunkhel substation, 10kV Sumber Power Transmission Line, Bayangol soum, Tunkhel village center ger area Power transmission line was completely renovated.
